No one else gets fired for breaking rules or malingering, Physically and mentally demanding, Expect to miss 2 out of every 3 breaks "for the convenience of the store", No promotions or raises. Quick paced work places with lots of friendly people. Consistent responsibilities achieved throughout the day while helping local customers and any questions shoppers had throughout my shifts.

Management added additional pressure to job position. No breaks or lunch, abusive management. Worked for Big Y for a whole 9 hour night shift. Came into work ready to work, only be be belittled and taken advantage of. They didn't give any explanation of how to do anything stock-wise, and said I shouldn't need any explanation. They continually yell at you to go faster, to the point of injury. I pulled a muscle in my back, and was scolded for it the next day.
They then sent me to the wrong doctor multiple times, and didn't want to pay for it, even though it should be covered under a work-injury.

They pay more to start then their competition, but at least the competition is unionized to protect you. Started in pretty much all of the employees are friendly, kind and respectful, It is a decent environment to work in. Management is lenient and understanding at the location I work at and are willing to work with you through any problems you may be facing. Advancement and pay raises are achievable with a bit of negation and adequate work ethic.
It is a all-around decent place to work. Management asks too much of employees. Slowly been watching them chip away the benefits that separate them from other grocery stores for employees. Management is really out of touch with day to day operations on the sales floor. They keep cutting hours and trying to squeeze more and more out of employees. Horrible work environment. Stressful situations. Non competitive pay rates.

Zero opportunity for advancement. Job was constantly threatened. Nit a place I would recommend working. Overall Miserable place horrible management. Overwork you for little pay. Every other day there was some other problem. ALWAYS tried to overwork you with very little consideration for their employees unless you're one of their favorite. Hours got cut if you did slightest thing they didn't like.
