The room was extremely comfortable and had a wonderful view over the beautiful surrounding countryside. The staff were all very helpful and friendly and we had a very nice Sunday lunchtime meal in the more formal restaurant. The whole meal was excellent, but the baked peach dessert was sublime. The breakfasts surpassed any hotel breakfast I have had in a UK hotel with much of it home cooked. The hotel is not too large and this meant there were never too may people using the spa, which was spotlessly clean and very well presented and equipped.
A really nice touch was being able to borrow wellington boots and umbrellas to enjoy a countryside walk from the hotel. Read more. Date of stay: October Value. Room Tip: Pick a room in the main part of the hotel if you want easy access to the spa. Helpful Share.

We have previously stayed at their Sister Hotel Rowhill Grange and fancied trying this hotel for a change. The hotel itself is beautiful and modern. We arrived, check in was quick and we were kindly upgraded to a garden room. The room was very spacious and the bathroom was great with a large bath and two sinks.
The spa was lovely, being adults only, it does make a big difference in allowing you to relax that bit more. The outdoor area was a really nice touch and they also have table service so we ordered a couple of glasses of wine while sitting in the sun, which was just lovely. Our only criticism with the spa would be that the steam rooms are separate for male and female as they are located in the changing rooms, so couldn't enjoy them with my partner. The restaurant is beautiful, and the food was divine.

Great service for dinner and breakfast. Overall a really nice and relaxing break, I live by the saying 'you get what you pay for', it is a very expensive weekend overall but if your looking for great service and relaxation then I think it's worth it. From first impressions, this hotel was a winner , wonderful reception at the door of our car , Checking in was very good , staff could not do enough, Our room was upgraded , which was a pleasant surprise.

In East Grinstead, overlooking the swirly, swelling green hills of the South Downs. Great tits and mistle thrushes trill overhead. The hotel backs onto 14 acres of National Trust woodland, which swoons with furry, butter-coloured archangel wild flowers.

The Wakehurst Royal Botanic Gardens is a seven-minute drive. The oldest part of the house dates back to the 17th century: a building fashioned from red stone, with mullioned windows and skinny Jacobean chimney pots. It is flanked by magenta azalea bushes that smell of clove and a carpet of lawn that glitters with frost at the started of the day and is pouncing with rabbits by the afternoon. Like many country-house-turned-hotels, the architecture of the newer extension buildings are a little jarring, though. Asymmetrical giltwood Louis chairs are juxtaposed with teal-coloured lip sofas; in the lounge, a marble fireplace is topped with the kind of soft pink ceramic vases the Queen Mother would have loved, but velvet purple sofas and abstract granite sculptures occupy the same room.
People who find constant visual titillation part of the fun at luxury hotels will enjoy this setting; others will find it overkill. This is a big, busy operation with plenty of staff, so you half expect to come across a weak link or two, but everyone from the receptionists to housekeeping are refined and polished, and full of smiles too. Facilities include a gym with classes, tennis court, putting green, trekking trail and garden games like giant chess.
